Job Description: This leading Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Technologist for a permanent role based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Senior Hospital Technologist in charge of a specific area controls accuracy, quality, relevance and timeliness of methodologies, techniques, tests and reports.
Supervise the work of trainee and technical and staff attached to the section controlled.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages the smooth running of daily operations of selected laboratory units to achieve the highest professional and service standards.
• Maintains the quality of services provided by the section at the highest professional and services standards.
• Act in accordance with the organisation’s quality system.
• Responsible for participating in quality improvement and quality surveillance activities.
• Assists the Chief Medical Technologist / Director in the administration of the department.
• Directs and supervises technical and trainee staff in the performance of tests used in the area controlled. Performs any test required in the absence of staff members.
• In consultation with the Chief Medical Technologist / Director directs the development, evaluation and implementation of all methodologies, tests and techniques used in the area supervised.
• In consultation with the Chief Medical Technologist / Director, maintains internal and external quality assurance programs necessary to meet required standards.
• Responsible for administrative and educational aspects of the supervised area including staff training, planning, management and stock control.
• Maintain familiarity with departmental methods, policy, procedure and other relevant manuals and keep abreast of revisions.
• Present the results of research, projects, meeting summaries and other topics to medical, scientific and other staff.
• Carry out research and developmental work that will enhance knowledge and improve the quality of service.
• Prepare statistical returns and other scientific and laboratory data as required.
• Ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees, visitors and contractors; so far as is reasonably practicable.
• Responsible for safe handling and disposal of specimens and waste materials.

To apply you will possess a Bachelor of Science: Medical Science (or equivalent) with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience or Diploma in Medical Technology (or equivalent) with minimum 8 years’ relevant experience.


You will also be a proven Manager flexible and able to work shifts when required as well as being well organised and a team player.

In return you will receive a TAX FREE salary between $35k USD - $40K USD per annum Tax Free.

You will also receive FREE housing for you and any family members, monthly transportation allowance, relocation flights and annual flights home for you, spouse and up to 3 children.
