As part of VCA/Antech, Inc., which operates the largest network of veterinary diagnostic laboratories and freestanding, full-service animal hospitals in the U.S., Antech Diagnostics, Ltd. Provides sophisticated testing and consulting services used by veterinarians in the detection, diagnosis, evaluation, monitoring, treatment, and prevention of diseases and other conditions affecting animals.
We are currently searching for Medical Laboratory Technologists for our laboratory in Ottawa, Ontario.
Requirements
B. S. Medical Technology or A. S. Medical Technology
Position requires experience in Hematology, Chemistry and Urinalysis.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform testing for Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Serology, Endocrinology, Parasitology
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
Monitor and reconcile pending lists
Participate in departmental training programs
Specimen processing
Prepare specimens for shipment
Maintain various QA and QC records
Qualifications:
Medical Technologist or Medical Technician with excellent general laboratory testing skills including hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, serology, endocrinology, parasitology
BS degree plus experience
Minimum one year of clinical lab experience in a laboratory or veterinary clinic
Good microscopy background
Good computer background
History of excellent attendance
Shift:
5 Day Workweek - including Saturdays & Sundays
Shifts - 7am - 3pm, 9am - 5pm, 11am-7pm
