Economic Systems Analyst
Location: Washington, DC

Position Summary
Provides technical assistance, consulting services, and individual training to users of economic systems. Responds to users’ request for assistance by phone or in person. Assists economists and research assistants with small projects involving the application of standard software tools for economic data management.
Functions
. Troubleshoots and resolves software issues pertaining to standard economic applications and packages, including providing hot-line support.
. Creates Excel macros for individual users and/or for company wide use.
. Tests new releases of standard applications and software packages prior to deployment.
. Writes user-oriented tutorials on software, hardware, and applications.
. May be assigned on short-term basis to user department for special assignment or to fill temporary research assistant vacancy.
Knowledge
. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
. Comprehensive knowledge of the use of personal computer operating systems and utilities in an enterprise network environment.
. Familiarity with macroeconomic data concepts and terminology is desirable.
Ability
. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
. Must have initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision.
. Ability to work as part of a team.
. Good problem-solving abilities. |
