This person will be responsible for administering a high availability, hosted environment and managing a multi-server network running Linux.
The ideal candidate will work well in a fast paced environment and deal professionally with internal and external clients. The candidate will proactively assess the health of the network and servers, and will proactively identify and rectify issues. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of professional experience as a Linux Systems Administrator and over 3 years of experience with Debian Linux, MySQL, Apache, Perl and PHP.
The candidate will also interface directly with customers in the Middle East, and with HRsmart Systems Administration teams located in the United States.
Administration responsibilities include:
• Administer multiple Debian Linux servers running in a high availability (Application Service Provider) environment.
• Administer MySQL in a high availability DB environment.
• Configure and install new machines. Experience with IBM xSeries hardware a plus.
• Perform day-to-day analysis of performance metrics to identify potential issues.
• Write and maintain scripts to automate daily tasks.
• Ability to travel to production colocation facilities located in Qatar as required.
• This position will be on call 24x7.

Skills Required:: |
• Minimum 3 years of experience administrating Debian Linux.
• Minimum 3 years of experience administrating Apache.
• Minimum 3 years of experience administrating MySQL.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Linux tape backup processes, including familiarity with tar, mtx and mt.
• Ability to write and maintain automation scripts written in Perl, PHP and bash.
• SAIR Linux or MySQL certification is a plus.
• Ability to work very well under pressure.
• Excellent multitasking capabilities.
• The ideal candidate will be very self-motivated and require little supervision.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience required.
• Strong command of the English language. |
