| Job Description: |
The Reporting Developer role will entail working closely with business and technical process analysts to implement human centric workflow reporting and business intelligence application components.
This role will undertake development of reports and dashboards to support integration with other applications and process metrics; this will entail rapid development iterations driven by changing business requirements. The candidates will be expected to demonstrate real world BI and reporting development skills using Cognos ideally gained while implementing large scale reporting projects.
The ideal candidate will come from banking or investment banking and have real world implementation experience of major enterprise architectural components such as portals, reporting and dashboard platforms, databases and cubing technologies.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Undertake report and dashboard development
• Work closely with and support Finance change teams on an iterative basis undertaking build out reporting and dashboarding requirements
• Administration and configuration of reporting platforms and databases
• Undertake development using prescribe development methodology
• Work closely with other technical implementation teams and architectural functions
Key skills and experience
• 5 to 10+ years of reporting / BI development and design experience
• Experience Cognos, Oracle and Essbase technologies
• 5+ development and administrative experience managing enterprise Oracle systems
• Development and implementation experience working with teams designing component based applications in Java, Oracle, Web Servers, Application Servers and thin client technologies AJAX, Xforms XHTML, XML, XSLT
• 3+ years of technical leadership/project management – senior appoints only
• Strong working knowledge of application development technologies and infrastructure – configuration management, development tools, testing frameworks and development methodologies
• Exposure to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) covering Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), integration patterns, application adapters and overall understanding of designing loosely coupled architectures
Professional and personal qualifications
• 10+ years industry experience, with either an investment banking, consultancy or software vendor background
• Must be able to demonstrate strong analysis and analytical skills
• Exposure / knowledge of investment banking
• Proven track record of large application development / delivery, preferably on large scale, global implementations
• Team player, highly motivated, practical problem solver
• Ability to work independently
• Degree Level education or higher

• Good relationship management skills
• Strong negotiation & influencing skills
• Excellent command of written/verbal business English
