Job title: estimator – for Aluminium Works

Number of vacancies: Six
Job Purpose:
To assist Commercial Manager in preparation of accurate estimate for different elements of Architectural Aluminium works Projects and recommend a competitive price to maximize the chance.
Key Responsibilities of this JOB:
Evaluate the feasibility to give the tender on time and if not possible, inform the Commercial Manager to ask for extension time to submit the tender.
Co-ordinate with Quantity Surveyor.
Clarifying product description system to the Contractor.
Co-ordinate with technical department for technical clarifications.
Prepare preliminary project construction program for curtain walling/façade & aluminium work.
Send enquiries for specified Aluminium & glass prices, special products, fabricated items etc.
Before starting to do the costing, ensure that all glass prices and any special product prices have been received.
Before preparing cost break down sheet, ensure that cost of individual units considered are reviewed, all specified extra fittings or ironmongery and addendum are received.
Prepare draft copy and passing to Commercial Manager with quantity take-off sheet for final review in order to put quotation number and sent to the client.
Calculate the cost of curtain walling / façade & aluminium work based on the tender drawings and documents

To come up with a good and competitive price and it requires deep study and knowledge of the project.
To get reliable suppliers with attractive/ competitive offer.
Any error/ mistake occurred during tender stage will affect or will have a big impact during execution.
Comunications Required:
Internal:
1. Daily contacts with the estimators to make sure that the required output has been met.
2. Regular contacts with the Sales and discuss all submitted quotation for negotiation purposes.
External:
1. Regular contacts with suppliers to obtain competitive price and to make sure their quotation will arrive on time.
2. Regular contacts with the Client/ Contractors/ Consultant to get proper information regarding the project.
Authority and reponsibility to solve problems and ake decisions:
1. Attend pre-bid/ negotiation meeting together with the Sales for finalization of project
With the Approval of the G.M/C.M.
2. Negotiate prices for various suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications, SKILLS, Experiences And Competencies Required.
Graduate of Civil Engineering/ Architecture.
Should have 5 years experience with Technical knowledge/ background in Aluminium and Glass field.
Should have at least min. 3 years experience in the field or project execution.
Can work independently with a minimal supervision and has the ability to work under pressure.
Solid understanding of related Microsoft applications including spreadsheet.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Skills Required:: |
Candidate should have knowledge and experience in costing aluminum curtain wall (stick/unitized system), aluminum doors & window, aluminum composite panel cladding, metal fabrication work etc.
•Ability to review the architectural drawings and project specification.
•Perform take-off for curtain wall/cladding etc. from the architectural drawings and prepare Bill of Quantity.
•Complete the estimate with breakdown of individual components (i.e. Aluminum, Glass, Gaskets, Thermal break etc.)
•Must have strong computer literacy and knowledge of AutoCAD.
