General Statement Of Duties :
The GNLFC Project Lead is responsible for gathering, analyzing and synthesizing data for the
Greater New London local food system. Specific deliverables are:
· Develop an asset assessment of the local food system utilizing the GNLFC local food
System scope model. All data will be stored and tracked in a database. Summarized
Reports of findings will include a gap analysis, options, opportunities and
Recommendations.
· a short-term pilot plan for 2009 which identifies one or more opportunities to begin to
Connect our local food providers to food preparers
· Produce a governance recommendation to sustain the oversight of the NL farm to city
Initiative
· Develop a mid- and long-range plan (3 and 5 years out) which serves as a road map of
Building out a local food system incrementally. This plan would be reviewed and updated
On an annual basis.
Duties will entail providing regular (determined with GNLFC) updates to the GNLFC Work
Group on the status of the project. Will also provide accounting updates to the project
Administrator. |
Skills Required:: |
Short and long term planning
Database work
Project management (establishing project statement of work, milestone deliverables,
risks/mitigation and timelines for completion)
Non-profit governance
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication: written and verbal
Position requires self-management and ability to meet target dates with pre-defined quality
deliverables.
3-5+ years strategic planning
5+ years running single or multi-person projects
5+ years using analytical tools and techniques
Demonstrate ability to synthesize findings, provide alternatives and recommendations to act on. |
