| Job Description: |
We are only looking for full time er/ed experienced medical procedural coders. If you are not highly qualified for this position, please do not apply.
In this position you will be responsible for:
· Abstraction of all diagnoses, procedures, and professional services with the most accurate and descriptive ICD-9-CM and CPT4
· Maintain a working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding principles, governmental regulations, protocols, and third party requirements.
· Maintain and comply with policies and procedures for confidentiality of all patient records.
· Identify, recruit, educate and manage coding operators.
· Perform QA audits of coding operators.
NOTE: This is not an entry level position to the field of Medical Coding, we are seeking only highly qualified individuals. Management level candidates should specify their desired position. |
Skills Required:: |
Position Requirements:
· 2+ years of physician/professional coding experience Required
· 3-5 years of general medical charge coding required
· Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
· Pro-Fee Coding experience highly preferred
· Strong analytical and auditing skills
· Very strong computer skills required
· Strong interpersonal & communication skills
· Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
· Background in a medical environment such as RN, NP, or PA is desired
· Coding credentials of CCS, CPC, or RHIT (or any pertaining advanced educational degrees) are highly preferred
· Coding experience in ED is a strongly desired
