| Job Description: |
Our client a multinational IT Company is looking to recruit a Business Analyst for their offices in Nicosia.
The Business Analyst will act as a gateway/bridge between the client and various business units within the company. The Business Analyst will provide consultancy support in defining business requirements and validation of service requests from clients .The Business Analyst will own the clients business requirements within the company and will be responsible for gathering, documenting and validating the business requirements. The Business Analyst will coordinate with the internal teams to ensure requirements are communicated and understood by the delivery team and also provide support during the implementation of service requests.
Activities / Key Tasks
•Take responsibility for Service Requests (Parameter Changes, Configuration Changes and Ad-Hoc Changes) reported by clients and retain ownership of the Service Request until it has been deployed successfully in the clients environment.
•To analyse and validate that client’s business objectives are achieved by the agreed business requirements and to propose alternatives where appropriate.
•To ensure that requirements outlined in the Service Request are clearly defined and agreed with the client and the same is communicated to internal teams within the company
•To manage communication with the client and the internal teams with an objective to agree and finalise the business requirements and the proposed solution.
•To review and discuss with internal teams the implication of the Service Request change on the system in general and the client’s environment. Communicate and agree the impact of the change with the client and review and provide alternatives where appropriate.
•Validate delivery of requirements and compliance of solution to client’s business requirements as outlined in the Service Request.
•To regularly track progress of Service Requests and update internal systems/databases as required by company’s required methods.
•To act as an advising and controlling instance to the Service Delivery team for client service requests
•To participate in business requirements gathering and planning meetings/conference calls/workshops with an objective to elicit, document, analyse, and communicate business requirements to stakeholders.
•Re-orient the customer to a different process if the request has to be proceeded differently
•Develop and constantly improve knowledge and competence on company’s products, solutions and services.
•To provide system/product consultancy support to clients and educate clients on system features and functionality where required. Manage expectations and needs of clients in regards to the functionality of the solution and make recommendations about the usage where appropriate.
•To develop and offer supporting documentation and training to ensure effective use of enhancements and new functionality to client
•To participate and contribute in client training programs and sales/presales meetings.
•Any other tasks/responsibilities commensurate with job or as detailed by the Line Manager
Person Specification
Education
•Educated to degree level or equivalent in an IT related field.
Essential
•Fluent in English
Minimum of two to three years relevant work experience.
Desirable
Any formal education in business analysis will be an advantage.
Experience
•Previous experience in the Payment cards industry in a customer facing role.
Personal Skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
•Analytical skills to analyse information received from various sources and decompose and structure information into reports, presentations and proposals.
•A quick learner with an aptitude for IT systems and software
•A good presenter with the ability to present technical concepts from a business perspective. Ability to present to a diverse audience. (business, technical, operations, etc)
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage conflicting requests on time in a dynamic environment.
Technical Skills
Essential
•Good understanding of Information technology and well versed with the IT industry vocabulary.
•Knowledge of basic concepts of databases, software and hardware
Analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into system/technical requirements and vice versa.
Computer Skills: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office i.e. MSWord, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Lotus Notes.
Desirable
Previous work experience as a business analyst in a software company
•Knowledge of PRIME or other Card and Merchant Management Systems
Other
Any additional computer skills such as database designing, programming, etc will be an advantage.
