| Job Description: |
Delivers 24/7 availability of the servers which host various business applications used by the Governments and Institutions Services (GIS) business sector across SGS offices worldwide
Ensures skills are up to date with the latest in technology, modern computer systems & software concepts to provide expert technical services
Main Tasks:
Implementation of new main computer systems and upgrades. Includes hardware, operating software, development tools, and transaction processing applications.
Administration of the following servers: Lotus Notes, Application servers, File servers, Web servers, SMS servers
Troubleshooting of main computer systems and applications.
Development of programs/utilities or procedures to efficiently handle IT operational requirements
Assistance to users and development teams on use of operating system, development tools and application software
Review of system capacity and provide, execute business continuity plans
Provide assistance in resolving operational problems
Assist in the maintenance of the Quality Management System
Requirements:
Professional qualifications
University graduate of Bachelors degree in Computer Science
Microsoft Certified Engineer is preferred
Experience / Technical knowledge
Must be updated with the latest in technology, modern computer systems & software concepts
2-3 years Experience in
o Windows xx Operating Systems (Microsoft Certifed Admin an advantage)
o Lotus notes
o RightFax
o ORACLE
o MS SQL server
o Windows XP
o Microsoft utilities and office tools
o Microsoft IIS
Familiar with LAN/WAN operations,
PC software installations and basic hardware troubleshooting
Background on customer service
Responsible in taking immediate action to end-users problems especially with regards to hardware unavailability.
Organizes and Performs tasks with minimum supervision
