This position is with the Computer Systems Segment of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. This particular division of Computer Systems, Maintech, provides computer system and LAN/WAN services to mission critical, multi-vendor, multi-site applications in the Financial, Telecommunications and Research and Development markets. The division`s broad spectrum of IT design, procurement, project management and maintenance services, includes 24/7 managed network and systems support. We have an immediate opening for Deskside Support in Austin, TX.
You will act as a technical resource responsible to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. This will be achieved by replacing components in laptops/desktops. You will also be accountable to distribute and support wireless devices (including BlackBerry and smart phones) in a corporate environment as well as manage tickets under varying project work load.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) in addition to two - five years experience in corporate environment providing direct Deskside Support. We are looking for someone with a strong client support background and solid technical/troubleshooting skills (windows 2000-Vista, Outlook, Office 2000-2007, Adobe suite, Cisco VPN, etc.) Must have familiarity with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, (advanced knowledge in each area a plus). Must have knowledge/experience with enterprise ticketing system (Remedy), be goal oriented and self motivated.
Candidate will have the ability to work on multiple tickets and projects simultaneously without a disruption in service level and be able to research for issue resolution using internet (Google and OEM support web sites). This position requires on-call support 24x7 for any site-related issues. Good organizational and time management will lead to your success. Candidate must be able to lift objects weighing 50-80lbs (monitors, PCs, etc.) You must be people friendly and easily approachable since there will be close interaction with end-users.
