Summary: "Hands on" credit manager who oversees, manages, conducts and performs the credit policies of the firm as dictated by management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Receives credit applications from customer or sales personnel, reviews for completeness, investigates credit background using established methods to determine credit worthiness, sets credit limit on account in accordance with company guidelines.
- Reviews terms and conditions of customer purchase orders for projects and negotiates acceptable terms and conditions based on management direction and established company credit policies.
- Reviews and negotiates proposed letters of credit, both domestic and international, for accuracy, completeness and verifies the conformity to the credit terms granted. works with the customer and the bank to get the letter into acceptable form.
- Prepares documentation in a timely fashion to protect company interest by filing liens, notices to owners and removal of equipment from customers locations both onshore and offshore to stop production nd prevent further debt occurrence.
- Must be familiar with performance bonds, lien laws, and generally accepted credit and collection policies and procedures common in the industry.
- Periodically reviews customer accounts to determine if credit limit is appropriate based on history of purchases and payments and adjusts credit limit accordingly.
- Works with customers to bring delinquent account balances up to date. Calls customers to determine reason for nonpayment, supplies copies of invoices, and other documents necessary to verify sale and delivery of merchandise, works to set up payment schedule on past due accounts. Follows up in a timely fashion.
- Closes accounts as deemed necessary to prevent further abuses of credit.
- Works with attorneys or other outside agencies on collection of past due accounts.
- Periodically reviews credit files to insure their completeness and accuracy.
- Reviews rental agreements to make sure account is in order prior to setting rental agreement at customer location.
- Works with management to review bad or uncollectible accounts and makes changes in credit to minimize likelihood of recurrence.
- Attends credit management association meetings and seminars as directed by management.
- Recruits, hires, promotes, trains, grants raises, discipline and terminates employees under his/her direction.
- Other duties and responsibilities so designated by executive offices.
