Requirements:
· Performance Engineer for a 5-6 month contract :
· 4 year degree, preferably in Computer Science
· Strong communication skills (essential)
· Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction
· 5-10 years of technical experience with at least 5+ years of performance engineering
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Comfortable interacting with all levels of management and technical resources
· Well-developed presentation skills
· Proven problem-solving capabilities and ability to work independently
· Expert-level experience with Performance Center/Loadrunner (required)
· Experience with other performance tools (JMeter, etc. a plus)
· Experience with testing and tuning applications running on .net and asp.net
· Experience with testing and tuning SQL server, Oracle Databases (understanding DB structures, system loads, and how applications works)
· Scripting abilities (required)
· The successful candidate should have strong analytical skills and be able to successfully multitask in an interrupt driven environment
· Experience testing internet-based applications is required
· Familiar with the concepts and tools for bug tracking and resolutions
· The candidate must have strong experience in SOA including WSDL, XML, and SOAP messaging
· Demonstrated ability with SQL
· Logs, tracks, and verifies resolution of software and specification defects
· Documents all phases of QA process
Preferred Skills:
· Understanding of TCP/IP and the transportation layer
· Deep understanding of HTTP (transition protocol; why are there bottlenecks; and pointing the development team to the problem and providing analysis)
· Executing performance tests Analyzing results, identifying solutions that may improve application performance or system capacity.
Database Analysis Skills
· Transitional application analysis skills
· Strong knowledge of performance testing methodologies
· Familiarity with the SDLC process and software quality standards and best practices
· Knowledge of relational databases

Skills Required:: |
This is a 5-6 months project.
We are looking for candidates who are local to Bay Area. Rate is $50 per hour.
Focus is on Oracle EBS r12, performance testing all touch points from gathering orders, processing payment on website - 15K orders per day, flowing thru Oracle App to Database backends (both Oracle - the new DB backend and SQL Server - the legacy DB) and all points in between.
This is NOT a functional testing position, it is highly technical. We really want a person who has a focus on being a Performance Engineer. Will be heavy on SOA including WSDL, XML, and SOAP messaging. Must have Oracle ERP experience, prefer r12, but that may be rare since it is new.
The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:
· Analyze technical requirements
· Design/Build test scripts
· Execute test scripts
· Report status of performance testing to managers and team
· Report and track defects in bugzilla
· Executing performance tests Analyzing results, identifying solutions that may improve application performance or system capacity.
· Responsible for handling the most complex quality assurance and test environment problems and issues
· Acts as a lead in the creation, preparation, and conduct of quality assurance reviews and the development and execution of test plans and test scripts
