On behalf of the client, we are looking for Railway Construction Professionals .
Reports to: Construction Manager
The Tamping Machine Operator is responsible for:
Operating an engineering vehicle that compacts ballast under sleepers, which maintains the correct geometry of the track.
Performing routine maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
To identify problem areas, weighing relative costs, and promote corrective actions.
Conducting tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected.
To determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job.
To ensure and plan the on time request for necessary project personnel, materials and equipment.
To supervise a team of Optical Equipment Operators.
To check and review the progress of the works.
To implement the job with safety.
Normal Construction Hours: 10 hrs a day, 6 days a week

Skills Required:: |
At least 15 years of working experience using computerized tamping machines.
Experience in using “Plasser and Theurer” type of tamping machines.
Experience in wooden and concrete sleepers.
Be able to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments for the operation of the tamping machine.
Excellent leadership skills, as the successful candidate has to lead a team of equipment operators.
Knowledge of tamping machines including their repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of 2 different manuals: 2 point lifting and 3 point lifting.
Able to meet deadlines, which are related to the Project Schedule.
Safety and Security. Knowledge of policies and procedures for the protection of people and property.
High School Diploma, or Vocational Training or On-the-Job related Courses
Fluent in English
Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and strong presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member.
Able to work under pressure
Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills
Strong problem solving skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.
