| Job Description: |
The System Engineer is a member of a multifunctional team comprised of systems engineers, software engineers, hardware engineers, quality engineers, configuration management, and support engineers. Our Avionics Systems Engineers are required to guide the systems development lifecycle including: concept design and definition; generation and analysis of requirements; requirements documentation; systems integration; and test validation/verification.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute systems engineering processes
- Evaluate operational requirements and user needs as a basis for avionics system definition
- Develop/review of the statement of work
- Specify and manage system requirements for integrated avionics systems
- Allocate and evaluate system performance budgets
- Work closely with avionics suppliers to ensure successful equipment performance
- Develop/specify system tests to ensure performance targets are met
- Plan, set up and participate in avionics integration and installed system testing
- Keep abreast of the state-of-the-art in avionics systems
- Work collaboratively within a project team of committed professionals
- May be required to travel

Skills Required:: |
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is a minimum, advanced degrees or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Familiar with fixed wing and/or rotary cockpit environments.
- Good knowledge of civil and/or military specification standards and practices: DO-178 (or equivalent), MIL-STD 1553 and ARINC 429
- 5 to 10 years experience in avionic systems (ie: INS; GPS; EGI, AFCS; EFIS; FMS; VHF/UHF/HF radios; SatCom; ICS; TCAS; IF)
