| Job Description: |
We are searching for a Project Manager –Underground Mining to manage New Zealand and/or Pacific based Projects. The key objectives of the role are the effective management of engineering, scheduling, costs, employee relations, safety, quality, and the environment. The Projects will be technically challenging and in diverse environments and will enhance your career development in the Construction industry. Work permits will be arranged and assistance with relocation depends on your total cost to company. You will be based on the South Island, two hour’s drive from the beautiful city, Christchurch.

The company specialises in construction and specifically in tunnelling, civil & marine, pipelines and underground infrastructure. The company is known for its ability to engineer creative solutions for its clients` infrastructure projects in the key market sectors of commercial building, mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, transport, water and social infrastructure.
It is preferred that candidates have the following:
• Relevant Mining degree.
• A minimum of 3 years coal mine experience with demonstrated success in delivering to financial targets, timeframes, H&S requirements, planning and logistics management.
• An underground Certificate of Competency, eg Mine Manager.
• Previous contract work will be advantageous.
• Strong leadership and communication skills translated into the achievement by staff of individual and team goals.
• Competence in understanding and promoting HS& E imperatives and internal quality requirements.
• Previous budget setting experience, preferably pricing contract work.
• Competence in negotiation and client relationship building accompanied with a sound understanding of management and cost containment.
• Competence in the use of software and other technology.
