| Job Description: |
Application Engineer (Railways)
1. To provide technical support to Direct Sales and New Business Development
2. To prepare technical calculation as per bearing technology.
3. To monitor competitor activities in respect of products and technical development and define activity plan accordingly.
4. To handle product quality related issues with PDs /factories and interact with customer’s various departments.
5. Respond to quality complaints as per defined systems and procedures.
6. Identify and record customer’s technical requirements
7. To solve problems and resolve conflicts of the customers and manufacturing units.
8. To ensure that the technical details of customer’s requirements are identified, compiled, recorded and analyzed.
9. To ensure customer’s approval has been obtained vis-à-vis Application Engineering proposals/product drawings/samples
10. Maintain close relationship with customer’s engineering management.
11. To manage the portfolio of customer/technology related product development program for optimal profit.
12. Communicate new business opportunities with customers.
13. Ensure that customer’s product and commercial approvals are obtained in line with application proposals, product drawings, samples submitted and completed sample tests.
14. Continuously follow up on sample and prototype test programs at customer installations.
15. Order samples as per defined procedures.
16. Periodically calibrate application engineering software.
17. Provide leadership in customer driven projects such as APQP and similar activities.
18. To prepare Application Engineering proposals for Customers
19. To ensure periodic calibration of Application Engineering software.
20. Ensure that programs in the portfolio have correct priority.
21. Liaise with sales personnel and customer service functions to provide techno- commercial solutions.
22. Conduct training programs for in basic bearing technology and related application areas.
23. To prepare/organize for the necessary and appropriate material for presentations.
24. To monitor customer approval tests conducted on prototypes/initial samples at customer’s premises/installations.
25. To participate in APQP CFT (Advanced Product Quality Planning)(Feasibility Study, Sample Order etc.)
26. To represent the voice of customer during Design FMEA(failure modes and effects analysis) & Process FMEA
27. To submit customer approvals for samples and submission reports (PPAP)(Production part approval process)
28. To seek and obtain customer waivers requested by QA.
29. To develop training material.
30. Anticipate trends in New Business Development, technology development and sales inputs.
31. Preparation of Quality handbook and control the issue and change of formats and documents
