Parkhouse Bell invites applications for the position of Dean Academic for a newly established College in the United Arab Emirates that focuses on Teacher training. As the College’s chief academic officer, the Dean is expected to support human, cultural, and intellectual diversity within an inclusive academic environment. You will be required to advance the field of education at the College, as well as participate in the general leadership and direction of the College.
The Dean Academic is a member of the Senior Executive of the College with a specific brief to provide academic leadership. The Dean Academic is responsible for:
• Oversight of all academic programs
• The management, review and development of curricula
• Leadership in teaching and learning
• The academic strategic plan for the college
• Professional leadership of all academic staff
• Line management of Heads of Academic Departments
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
• Doctoral Qualification in Teacher Education or related field
• At least 5 years senior leadership experience in teacher education
• A sustained record of scholarly work directly related to teacher education
• Deep understanding of contemporary school and teacher education
The ideal candidate will have international experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and a positive energy towards a start-up College is essential. Candidates must be prepared to relocate to the United Arab Emirates and full relocation package is provided.
