Main Purpose Of Role:
To ensure the availability of materials through negotiations and agreed quality standards to meet the demand
Key Responsibilities
1. Through close liaison with the Finance Dept, ensure that all payments are made in the most efficient and timely manner to avoid delivery delays.
2. Enter into negotiations with the suppliers without compromising on quality and delivery pattern.
3. Seek alternative competitive suppliers and liaise with Q.A and manufacturing for approval.
4. Ensure that claims are pursued by following the laid down procedure and are directed swiftly through the correct route.
5. Initiate trials as necessary and monitor by following the laid down procedure.
6. Assist in annual budgeting and preparation of prices, cash flow, supplier contracts, reduction of demurrage, working capital and potential write offs
7. Plan delivery of materials in line with the production plan & forecasts providing detailed schedule of ETA and follow up on deliveries keeping a KPI for each supplier.
8. For imported materials, ensure that the necessary purchase documentation is prepared fully and accurately before passing to the Clearance Team to commence the import procedure.
