Summary
As Data Center Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning and directing the activities of our Data Center operations, ensuring the availability, reliability, performance, security, and recovery of all our systems and networks. You will provide leadership, management, and oversight for the provisioning, implementation, support, and day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure resources, components, and services critical to the flawless operation of our multi-platform, 24/7 data centers.
Duties/Responsibilities
Manage regional and domestic teams of data center personnel to provide multi-level support to ensure timely issue identification, documentation, and solution
Provide direction to staff to support business strategies
Serve as coach and mentor for staff and provide continued development of IT infrastructure competencies
Delegate work to subordinates and ensure staffing levels are adequate at all times, including holidays
Monitor work quality of data center personnel
Establish and evaluate staff performance to stated goals, as well as monitor and appraise performance and professional progress of staff
Effectively track and ensure timely issue resolution
Effectively communicate with all levels of internal customers, including senior management
Establish quality standards and negotiate Service Level Agreements with IT and User departments
Ensure IT activities are SOX-compliant
Effective, timely, and meaningful management reporting on the status of performance metrics and outages, providing recommendations for improvement, as needed
Implement and document formal policies and procedures for problem management
Implement best practice methodologies to provide and improve data center support activities, and ensure data center staff takes advantage of industry best practices for optimal efficiency and impact
Build good working relationships with internal customers
Obtain a good understanding of all applications, equipment, and software being used throughout the organization.

Short-Term Disability California- eligible for State Disability. Paid time off coordinates with CA SDI.
Long-Term Disability Pays 60% of monthly base salary up to plan maximum after 90-day waiting period on an approved disability.

Required Background/Experience
7+ years of experience directing and managing complex, multi-platform, 24/7 data center environments
Experience developing and implementing infrastructure technology strategies and business cases
In-depth knowledge of data centers, including environment controls, security systems, backup power systems, system monitoring, job automation, management policies and procedures, and physical organization
Operations experience with diverse platforms (UNIX, Linux and Windows), call center systems, and enterprise-level data storage and backup systems
In-depth knowledge of processes and procedures for IT change management, information security, and systems recovery
Thorough knowledge of current developments in the field of information technology and information systems
Major Pluses to have
Advanced Computer Science/Information Systems degree |
