The database administrator provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, implementation, and operation of distributed database systems that may include but is not limited to enterprise DBMS software, distributed DBMS architectures, application and utility software for maintaining and tuning databases, and associated operating systems. Participates in the maintenance, tuning, operation, information security, recovery, and development of distributed database systems. Must be familiar with Intelligence database architectures, schemas, and data models. |
Skills Required:: |
Candidate must have the ability to
-Translate logical data models into physical database structures
-Monitor relational databases to optimize database performance and tuning
- Implement database backup and recovery procedures
- Monitor and maintain database security
- Advise on troubleshooting, exception processing, and other data management issues
`-Review, design, and develop data models using standard diagrammatic techniques
- Provide advice to application programmers and Systems Engineers in the effective use of database languages
- Address database integration issues, including migration between databases, maintenance/conversion, and new applications
