We are aggressively looking for a UNIX / AIX Systems Administrator for one of our clients based in the Tokyo region.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Upgrade and maintain OS versions
* Install Fixes/Patches/APARs
* Analyze problems and resolve issues with zero or minimum down-time
* Act on day-today house-keeping tasks by using tools & scripts
* Work with Change & Problem Management tools
* Create regular reports for management
* Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes
* Handle escalations from other teams such as Helpdesk / Desktop Support |
Skills Required:: |
Essential Skills:
* Strong knowledge & experience in UNIX / AIX Systems Administration.
* Experience in handling an environment of more than 50 servers will be essential.
* Trouble shooting skills & thorough knowledge of AIX commands
* General Knowledge of Storage, Networking and backup devices useful
* In-depth knowledge & experience of managing complex AIX tasks such as Logical Volume Manager, File System Management (NFS), Patch Management Planning & Installation, Managing external devices in SSA and SAN environment, Managing backup in products like Tivoli storage management, creating Shell Scripts and debugging them, automating procedures, etc.
* Experience with products such as Tivoli, WebSphere MQ, etc.
Language Skills:
* Japanese-level: At least Daily Conversation level is a must. JLPT Level 2 ideal.
* English-level: Daily Conversation level is a must
* At least one of the above languages should be fluent or native.
