Under direction, but with independent responsibility for professional results, to provide psychiatric diagnostic and therapeutic service in a clinical facility and to perform related duties as required. Skillfully diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients; analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
Duties:
Conducts psychiatric examinations; makes diagnoses and prescribes therapy; conducts individual and group psychotherapy; administers and interprets projective tests; participates in staff conferences recommending appropriate treatment approaches; assists in developing and organizing a program of clinic treatment; may direct case conferences; may serve as a consultant to other clinic staff; confers with patient’s relatives regarding illness and treatment; assists through consultation in establishing psychiatric programs and policies; cooperates with other public health and hospital personnel.

Work Schedule
The position is Monday – Friday.
Option #1 – (On-site/Off-site) - 9:00-2:00 the work would be performed onsite and from 2:30 - 4:00 or 4:30 the work would be off-site at various nursing homes. All of the nursing homes are within 5-10 minutes of each other in Chicago.
Option #2 - (Off-site) - 9:00-4:00 or 4:30 the work would be off-site at various nursing homes. All of the nursing homes are within 5-10 minutes of each other in Chicago.

Employment Standards:
Possession of a valid license as a physician is required. Possession of a “billable” Medicaid & Medicare certification.
Educational Requirements:
A psychiatrist must have an M.D. Or D.O. Degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy
