Job description and responsibilities
The senior plant manager will be responsible for the management of maintenance of a fleet of earthmoving road construction plant and equipment for a 40 km road construction. The project manager is expected to work under minimum supervision in attending to the engine works, hydraulics, transmission, undercarriage and major electrical works of the major plant and equipment.He/She will also be expected to provide guidance and advise on the correct and efficient deployment of plant and equipment for various works to the construction teams on site. The manager is expected to provide leadership and supervise a team of technical mechanical staff, drivers and operators in the workshop department for the planning of plant inspections and maintenance schedules, efficient attendance to repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment. The Manager will superintend over the administration of the maintenance of records for plant and equipment utility, maintenance, consumption of fuel, oil and lubricants and working schedules of the equipments.
