Job Description
Main Responsibilities: Development of latest personalization products & mobile Internet solutions for international client base, specializing in database design and development.
Education & Technical Skills
§ Excellent SQL development experience
§ Excellent capacity and performance planning experience
§ PL/SQL experience
§ Database design experience including expert knowledge of data normalization, referential integrity, indexing and database sizing
§ Experience with data warehousing systems (star schema & transformation, materialized views and rewrite)
§ Experience performance tuning high concurrency database applications
§ Experience using stored procedures, materialized views, triggers, transact SQL
§ Proficiency and experience with data loads and data loading strategies
§ Data migration experience (9i, 10G)
§ Experience with providing front-line support to external customers
§ Experience with database connectivity, managing DB connections and configuring JDBC
§ Oracle installation, configuration and database administration on both Linux and Unix platforms
§ Product development lifecycle experience
§ Knowledge of data warehousing principles
§ Knowledge of Internet technologies (eg. Servlets, JSP, HTTP, XML, XSLT)
§ Knowledge of Internet infrastructure & architecture (eg. Networks, protocols, routers, firewalls, web servers)
§ BA in one of computers professions
Detailed Job Description
§ Design and implement database schema, SQL scripts and procedures for all products
§ Ownership of coding standards for SQL, JDBC, stored procedures, triggers, and logical and physical schema design
§ Capacity planning, creation of test plans and capacity testing of database components
§ Performance tuning applications
§ Maintain database schema, ensuring changes are replicated across all databases
§ Training & mentoring engineers in SQL best practises
§ Review and approve all proposed schema changes
§ Review all SQL changes, tuning for optimization
§ Database testing and optimized configuration for customers of different size
§ Assist in database sizing calculations for deployment projects and RFI`s
§ Troubleshoot database-related customer issues
§ Training QA in general Oracle administration tasks
§ Training QA in troubleshooting tasks
