Purpose of Job
- To assist the contract manager with the management of HSE on installation floating resource including pipeline lay barges, riser setting barges, heavy lift vessels and support vessels
- To be the contract holders focal point for all BSP Health, Safety and Environmental issues
- To provide direction, guidance, and support to ensuring HSE compliance and performance of contractor ;
* Interpretation, application, and compliance with BSP HSE standards & Brunei legislation;
* Effective use of risk management (HEMP) tools including JHA and management of change
* To drive improvements in the contractor organisation at all levels affecting implementation in Bsp
Principal accountability
- Key interface with contractor management on HSE issues
- Coaching and encouragement of HSE activities by contractor
- Oversight of MPM/MPS and contractor HSE plans on site
- Coordinate management site visits
- Organise and lead vessel HSE process audits (eg electrical, working at height, lifting)
- CoordinateGroup, BSP and MPM material and initiatives on site
- Coordinate incident and near miss investigations
- Coordinate and follow-up health risk assessment/health management plans on site
- Oversee ISO14001 related activities on site
- Interface with shore based HSE advisors
Key Challenges:
- Contractor with developing safety system, culture and performance
- Multi-cultural workforce, including expatriate vessel management
- Managing safety risk within an ever changing work plan
- Multiple interfaces, dynamic schedules
- Schedule driven projects
- Manage the contract, not the contractor

Skills Required:: |
Qualifications
Required-NEBOSH
Experience-Minimum 10 years experience in construction site HSE (safety) management; preferably including experience in a Shell-operated environment
A previous similar company role, especially in managing and interfacing with project teams / contractors will be an advantage.
Will have worked as either a saturation/air diver, construction foreman/superintendent, or

Strong written and spoken English

Experience with working with a range of cultures and nationalities
Strong interpersonal and engaging skills with staff at all levels alike
