It is for those who have a Bachelor’s degree or higher and for those who prefer to concentrate on teaching English conversation rather than the Gospel. Teaching missionaries may also be asked to teach English using the Bible on Sundays at a Korean Church. Missionaries in this program will stay in Korea under the Language Teacher Visa (E–2) and therefore must meet all the E-2 visa requirements set forth by Korea’s Ministry of Education. These requirements include a Bachelors degree, criminal background check, and health checkup. School missionaries are provided roundtrip airfare to Korea, accommodations paid by employer, and some meals. They can expect a monthly salary between $1,800 ~ $2,400, depending on experience. Medical insurance and severance pay are generally also given to teachers.
