Job Title: Paramedic
Position Summary
Overall responsibility of paramedical services during the work shift. Supervise ambulance and emergency medical services provided by all paramedics on duty.
Reports to
Assistant Chief Paramedical Services
Principal Duties
• Lead ambulance crew in responding to all calls for emergency medical services.
• Organise the initial response of paramedical services at the scene of major disasters.
• Assist the paramedic officer in the training of junior paramedic staff and fire services personnel in first aid and emergency medical care.
• Maintains inventory of medical supplies to ensure operational readiness of all ambulances during your work shift.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures to inspect personnel, vehicles and equipment to maintain operational readiness.
• Full responsibility on all emergency medical treatment provided during your work shift.
• Shall be an active member with defined responsibility during major disasters or simulation exercises as designated by the paramedic officer.
Must be familiar/work knowledge with requirements of NFPA 473, NFPA 1581, and 1582.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
• 12 years formal education.
• University degree in Health Science preferred.
Specialised qualifications:
• Should have completed a formal course of “Basic Life Support” and certified EMT.
• Successfully completed a course of “Advanced Life Support” and certified as a paramedic.
• Alternative qualification is Registered Nurse (RN) Western educated and trained.
Experience:
• 13 years experience in paramedic services including 5 years in a supervisory position.
• At least 2 of the last 5 years shall have been in an equivalent position at a major airport of in a recognised ambulance service.
• Possession of a University degree in Health Science will reduce the experience requirement by eight years.

Language:
• Arabic desirable.
• Ability to read, write and speak English required.
Other:
• Valid vehicle operator’s licence from your country of origin and the ability to obtain the same in Saudi Arabia.
