The Rio carnival is where the world lets its hair down and is a `must see` for all travellers. This project provides the opportunity to join a carnival samba block that parades in downtown Rio de Janeiro. Volunteers work together with the community, making costumes for carnival, with plenty of time left over to explore one of the world’s most exciting cities at its vibrant best. Experience in fashion or textiles is useful but not essential. This project provides a wonderful behind-the-scenes insight into the Rio carnival and the opportunity to get acquainted with carnival culture.
The project costs £380 which includes: airport pick-up and transfer; accommodation; full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner); daily support by project leader; one basic Portuguese class; induction session; DVD with photos and video of the project. |
