Project Details
An appointment is available at the US Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine within the Public Health
Assessment Program of the Directorate of Health Promotion and Wellness. The goal of this project is to identify and
Develop key initiatives for building community resilience. A community-level behavioral health and social health
Database will be created to support the "Building Community Resilience Initiative” at Fort Hood, Texas.
We are looking for a candidate who has experience as a Clinical Social Worker or Organizational Psychologist or
Related discipline with a clinical background that is interested in joining a community based project with a public health approach. This candidate will liaise with the Health Promotion Coordinator, Epidemiologist and Data Technician on-site to evaluate existing programs and develop additional programs based on the epidemiologic analysis. They will also be responsible for including different organizations within the installation and involve them in both consultation and Collaboration. Military knowledge/experience is strongly preferred.
This appointment includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Assist the Health Promotion Coordinator to identify and develop key initiatives for building community resilience.
Assist with characterizing "resilience" and data analysis across organizations on Ft. Hood and gain a greater
Understanding of the determinants for this social characteristic and to enable USACHPPM to identify key
Initiatives with strong potential for bolstering community resilience.
Assist with intervention proposals to be presented to the Health Promotion Council and implemented with
Baseline metrics generated and followed to establish efficacy and effectiveness of all interventions. All of these
Efforts will be coordinated with the clinical staff and the leadership at Darnell Army Medical Center on Ft. Hood,
And, whenever possible, this project will involve that facility in both consultation and collaboration.
Examples of relevant data include information surrounding cases of domestic violence, sexual assaults, alcohol
Related incidents, criminal activity, substance abuse, characteristics of psychological health diagnoses
(depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc) and even unit generated data, such as Article 15s and chapter actions. |
