Company profile
We are working in partnership with Corrigan Bentley to support client, servicing various European Union / European Commission organizations and offices throughout Europe. You`ll be working on the premises/behalf of various prestigous EC institutions.
The Job
Background to the role:
· Looking for experienced PL / SQL, Oracle database administrators and developers
· They will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and optimising the use of a complex Oracle database and offering real time technical support to thousands of users
· A good working knowledge of Solaris and of Shell and / or Unix scripting is essential
Key Tasks:
· Following up the production of applications
· Monitoring applications in relation to SLAs
· Database administration and managing access rights
· Installation and configuration of databases
· Monitoring and fine tuning of databases, trouble shooting, diagnosing software problems, working in collaboration with development teams, working with the DIGIT managers and members of the support and maintenance teams
· Advising the IT team on capacity management, contingency management, managing service continuity, managing security
· Managing and maintaining user manuals on databases and their different applications
· Managing / creating a ‘disaster recovery plan’ for the database
Environment:
· Candidates could be working with Unix Sun Solaris, Oracle 10, BEA Weblogic application server (V9 and V10), Java, BMC Patrol, SAP R3, ColdFusion, (Apache) webservers and Business Objects.
· All of these applications are installed in a number of different offices
We ask
Person:

· You obviously have in depth knowledge of and experience with the above mentioned technical subjects, where Oracle and PL/SQL experience within a Unix / Solaris environment is core
· You need to be very pro-active and well organised.
· You need to have good communication skills in order to be able to work well with the different teams
· You also need to be good at paperwork and documenting procedures
· We are looking for a minimum of 5 years experience in this type of role (support / administration)
· Ideally looking for formally qualified people (not essential but strongly preferred)
· You need to speak very good French and English
The above mentioned technical requirements are considered essential. Candidates who do not meet these requirements will not be introduced.
