Job Description: Our client is seeking a Support Services Project Director for a permanent role based in Doha, Qatar.

The Support Services Project Director provides services planning and input coordination expertise during the design through commissioning phases of the medical center to prepare for all facets of services implementation.

S/he performs specific tasks related to the development and execution of the Organisation’s goals, programs, policies and procedures in areas related to biomedicine, laundry, food and nutrition, security, material management and plant operations and other ancillary services, as required. S/he serves as the principal point of contact and liaison with external constituencies on all matters relating to non-clinical programs and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with the other Medical Groups and Healthcare providers and other stakeholders to assure effective and robust communication streams for resolution of non-clinical, ancillary service issues.
• Assists with submitting input and resolving questions and issues related to clinical programs and services.
• Seeks and integrates advice and counsel from subject matter experts or other outside user groups for issues beyond immediate realm of expertise. Incorporates expertise by serving as a resource related to non-clinical aspects within areas of responsibility.

• Establishes and oversees the achievement of goals for areas of responsibility in concert with the goals.
• Develops new service programs within areas of responsibility in accordance with the established goals.
• Assures compliance with quality and safety standards of practice according to JCI/JCAHO accreditation standards and other regulatory agencies requirements.
• Develops activities that support the delivery of non-clinical services within areas of responsibility.

• Establishes cooperative working relationships with administration, varied medical center departments and medical staff. Conducts, attends and participates in committees to attain solutions to problems and better coordination of services. Identifies problems and strategies to effect change in collaboration with the Executive Project Director Office.
• Works with clinicians and multiple vendors as well as other technical departments to ensure that appropriate project management disciplines are followed while projects are successfully delivered in accordance with work plans, framework and lifecycle of the project(s).
• Hires and supervises the Senior Planning Consultants, and creates vision and leadership for the non-clinical planning teams.
• In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities during this start-up phase, this position may perform other duties as assigned.



To apply for the role you will be degree qualified (Master’s Degree preferred) in health services or equivalent.

You will also possess the following:

• At least 7 years of relevant top-level management experience in an academic health care setting.
• Advanced knowledge of systems, operations and coordination of activities within academic medical centers
• Project management and start-up academic medical center experience preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of JCI/JCAHO accreditation standards required.
• Excellent management, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and meet priorities, deadlines, strategic department goals and objectives.
• Skills in providing consultation and advice on multiple assignments required.
• Fluency in oral and written English required.
• Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor delivery of non-clinical ancillary systems critically.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex non-clinical and systems problems and issues.
