Role: Process Engineer (Mechanical / Chemical)
Location: Based at Amiens; France or London; UK with 25% Travel to – Gettatico; Italy & Mechlen; Belgium.
Rate: Open – Daily / Hourly – USD / EUR rates
Language Skills: English & French, good communication skills
Duration: Long term – 24 months plus
Skills & Description:
Process Engineer / Manager (Mechanical / Chemical background).
We need Engineers to take lots of measurements, to check equipment layouts, pipe runs, talk to vendors, etc. Engineers from Consumer products / FMCG background.
Exposure to Clean Design systems and materials used in clean / sanitary plants, processes used and general level costs involved for installation of systems in such plants, critically followed in FMCG / CPG companies. Need resources with some level of CPG - consumer products and Goods OR FMCG - Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry experience.
Experience Level: 12 to 20 yrs, at least 8 + yrs.
Level: Design Manager level.
1. Strong Process engineering skills - Mechanical or Chemical engineering responsibilities in an engineering team environment with product life cycle that spans conceptual, definition, and, detail engineering cycles; understanding of customer requirement - to support the technology owners to facilitate a faster, quicker, more economical engineering workflow that enables the end product of the project effort to be on the shelf on or before a due date.
2. Experience level of 12- 20 years in project execution, design, and planning. Strong Engineers with 8 + yrs will also fit, provided they are from desired vertical.
3. Team building experience – to select the right engineers and approach projects with full inter-discipline co-ordination
4. Communication abilities to be quick, decisive and yet ensure buy-in of all members as required- Preferred Languages would be French and English / Spanish or English.
5. Ability to handle fast pace projects with high pressure demands to finish engineering tasks to enable construction to move forward
6. Ability to make decisions on the extent of engineering required by working in close quarters with customer, vendors and contractors to ensure a balance of engineering and design-build activities to happen simultaneously so that deadlines are met or improved upon
7. Some travel required to visit vendors for FATs, visit sister sites for understanding operating methodologies, and technology applications
8. Strong client facing skills
9. Willingness to coach young engineers to step up to tasks and responsibilities to fill new roles as required
10. Ability to balance customer expectations to create realistic scopes of work, budgets and time lines
Other preferences:
1. To be based in London / Amiens
2. Ability to speak French would be very desirable
3. Ability to travel to these sites as required with proper permits
