| Job Description: |
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer, Web on a temporary contract basis for our Point&Find Business Program.
Education
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
* Actively work as part of a team of software developers in implementing the required solutions as defined in the specifications and plans
* Develop product-level code in various scripting languages, esp. PHP and HTML (primarily), plus others nice to have
* Setup commercial-grade integration environments. Integrate data feeds (FTP, XML, etc.) into scripts and Linux chron jobs
* Work with IT hosting to resolve security issues like opening ports, setting up scripts on the right servers with correct access rights etc.
* Customize and develop web-pages to display content feeds
* Setup and integrate MySQL databases for data storage and content caching
* Create interfaces to custom-build line of business applications and tools
* Develop custom scripts for picture management and special image conversion software tools
* Setup web analytics platforms and interfaces to other 3rd party software
* Quickly get-up-to-speed on dynamic requirements and quickly adjust to changes
* Keep documentation up-dated for all components in domain
* Deliver always on time and on target with exceptional quality at a very high clock speed
* Success will be measured by timely, high-quality delivery against product development sprints, as well as customer, partner and stakeholder satisfaction. |
Skills Required:: |
* Exceptional technical implementation skills, at least 5-10 years programming experience in PHP/HTML
* Experience with various IDE PHP framework is a big plus
* At least 1-2 years experience in Java Action Script
* Experienced in setting up LAMP type environments, incl. SQL database configuration and script integration as well as chron job configuration and administration
* Delivered at least one major commercial Internet service with integration of 3rd party content feeds
* Datacenter and database administration best practices (security, backup, update cycles, carrier grade services, etc.).
* Software testing processes and tools (unit/regression testing, integration testing, etc.).
* Experience with documentation tools (Rational Rose, Word, etc.)
* NICE TO HAVE, java programming experience as a plus, but not required
* Ability to discuss issues openly. Detail-oriented and focused
* Ability to quickly get involved in unknown areas and draw logical conclusions combined with the ability to make and support sometimes unconventional decisions. Incorporate existing code vs.
Trying to build everything from scratch . Highly entrepreneurial, flexible and extremely hard working. "Gets things done"
