| Job Description: |
The Health Club Manager should be able to manage & lead the Health Club team in the over-all operations of the Health & Racquet Club.
Be able to manage, lead, supervise & facilitate the proper tracking of guests & members, members records, membership sales, treatment records, cash flow, relevant accounting procedures, department budget & forecasts, retail overview, fitness assessments & coordinate all of the administration duties as well as provide courteous, friendly help and assistance to all Guests & Members at all times. Supervise all daily HRC daily activities, staff training, hygiene maintenance, product control, promote retail sales, staff scheduling along with creating & maintaining a unique fitness environment and experience, based on the Health & Racquet Club Standards, Service Standards & Cultural Standards.
Principal accountability:
The Health Club Manager must provide friendly and efficient service to all Airways Hotel Guests & Health & Health & Racquet Club Members based on the established rules & regulations of the department as well as the Airways Hotel standards, together with the policies and procedures of the Health Club & Spa Department.
Regular tasks of the Health & Racquet Club Manager:
1. Confidently manage & coordinate all administrative duties and organize all schedules as required.
2. Promote enthusiastically all activities, treatments, retail sales & services that are offered in the Health & Racquet Club.
3. To coordinate with the Health & Racquet Club Supervisors & staff in ensuring that all Health & Racquet Club safety procedures, rules and regulations are strictly observed by all Guests & Members.
4. Be fully aware & conversant of all Health & Racquet Club rules & Regulations.
5. Must have good knowledge on the operation and maintenance of all spa equipment and facilities.
6. To regularly check on the cleanliness & hygiene and order of the treatment rooms & locker facilities as well as the spa areas in general.
7. To address any inquiries with knowledge, accuracy and confidence that may be asked by Guests & Members.
8. To be able to conduct Health & Racquet Club “showroom” and successfully sell the Health & Racquet Club facilities and services to all prospective Guests & Members.
9. Encourage retail product sales, supervise the maintenance of stock control & tidiness in the pro shop and show cases as required.
10. Assist the Health & Racquet Club supervisors by showing initiative & coordinating ongoing training for all staff, activities & events in the department.
11. Have enthusiastic, proactive hands on approach with a common sense understanding to all department tasks and treatments.
12. Prepared to learn and take training courses as required for self-development & department enhancement.
13. Create a warm welcoming & friendly atmosphere at all times.
14. To assume other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the hotel and Jeleya Management from time to time.
The Person:
To have a friendly service orientated teamwork approach, with a sense of pride, knowledge, flexibility, understanding and be able to use common sense & show initiative with an attitude of excellence, passion and a desire for perfection & results.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Fitness industry experience of no less than 6 years
2. Management experience of no less than 3 years
3. Qualified fitness instructor plus personal trainer, aerobics instructor, tennis, squash, swimming or any holistic based instructor qualifications i.e. Yoga, Thai Chi, Zen Chi, Pilates or Qigong
4. Relevant fitness industry qualifications in exercise prescription of either a diploma, degree of certificate in human movements, sports management which has been certified by a recognized global organization, institute or college
5. Experience and knowledge of personal training, exercise physiology, anatomy, exercise prescription, sports first aid, sports rehabilitation, holistic therapies and complete competence in training staff on all levels
6. Sports business administration, budgets and complete understanding of a sports facility operational procedures, including daily maintenance, preventative maintenance and fitness equipment service

Skills Required:: |
Certification from nationally recognized Exercise & Fitness organizations such as ACSM, NSCA, NATA, AFAA, and/ or Bachelors degree in Kinesiology or exercise related field. Must have CPR/ First Aid/AED certification.
Core Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health and/or Fitness related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
