Description:
Plan, Organize, Direct and Control all operations in the Brewery to ensure efficient and cost effective use of personnel and materials in response to production demands. Ensure the maintenance of safety in all department operations. Supervise assigned management personnel and clerical staff to provide for the long-term technical and managerial development of all subordinates. Create and implement attendance programs, employee development programs, disciplinary policies, etc. Establish and maintain employee relations within the department as part of fostering a suitable business climate for a multi-cultural workforce. Prepare brewery budgets and standards, production schedules and recommend appropriate staffing levels to maintain brewery operations. Oversee all department managers to ensure the production of the brewery is carried out in a cost efficient and timely manner. Ensure everyday operations run smoothly and without fault.
Ultimately ensuring the successful sales of all brewery products by proper management and development of the sales and marketing department. General manager is responsible for the profit and loss of the whole operations of the brewery.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the continuous operation of the Brewery in accordance with established schedules, practices and procedures. Monitor the various department processes for adverse trends and ensure equipment and systems are operated in accordance with established guidelines.
- Oversee and maintain all department equipment is in good working order and provide for upkeep of department facilities, buildings and grounds. Ensure that bulk beer is produced to meet the requirements outlined on various schedules.
- Recommend changes to production schedules in an effort to reduce cost through process optimization. Plan for and ensure the use of safe operating practices and procedures.
- Plan for and ensure all quality standards and procedures are adhered to. Demonstrate commitment to quality through review of all quality trends, conduct GMP inspections on a regular basis, ensure training levels adequate and lead other quality initiatives as needed.
- Prepare recommendations for staffing levels, production and capital budgets and implement procedures to monitor, control and reduce costs. Review beer delivery to packaging on a continuous basis looking for ways to minimize disruptions and increase efficiency.
- Ensure that the working environment in the brewery is free from bias and harassment by liaising with department managers ensuring that assignments are being carried out promptly and without fault.
- Ensure all operating practices and procedures are properly administered and enforced. Ensure all departments are properly staffed and employees are adequately trainedin their respective functions.
- Provide direction to subordinate managers and provide for their technical development. Provide for the development of high potential employees in support of corporate programs.
- Provide input to BRQA on process upgrades and changes which will improve product quality and increase efficiency. Serve on various corporate task forces in support of developing the long-term business goals of the company.
- Provide for the technological upgrade of the Brewery by exploring new technologies and processes which will improve the overall efficiency of the brewery operations. Ensure administration functions are handled in an efficient manner.
- Develop and implement a business plan within the brewery which supports the goals and objectives of the company and the brewery. Running all operations efficiently and without fault.
- Ensuring the successful sales of all brewing products.
- Ultimately responsible for the profit and loss of the whole operation of brewery business.
