| Job Description: |
Our global pharmaceutical client whose portfolio includes more than 50 key marketed products, many of which are leaders in their respective therapeutic areas is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer for a long term project. Our client in 2008 achieved 11 successful market launches in the United States and the European Union.
Provide technical support for a local biopharmaceutical research company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 phone and remote desktop support to the organizations supported through the Local Service Desk.
Work closely with the Information Systems teams that develop and maintain scientific applications.
Work closely with the Client Services teams that provide advanced hardware and software support.
Our scientific community deserves and requires the highest level of IT support to allow them to better discover and deliver life-saving medicine. The Service Desk analyst should be excited about being part of an organization that discovers life-saving drugs worldwide.
Major Accountabilities
Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve all IT issues called in by supported end users.
Work with senior members of the team to resolve issues.
Determine when an issue needs to be escalated to another solver group.
Inform users of outages that may disrupt them from working effectively.
Follow through on issues to ensure they get resolved to the users satisfaction.
Review documentation and provide improvements when possible.
Be able to handle multiple issues at the same time.
Interact with users with professionalism and confidence.
Contribute to improving the quality of service the Service Desk provides.

Resolving issues effectively, efficiently and to the users satisfaction.
Adding value to the knowledge base of information used to resolve issues.
Improvising to adjust current procedures to make them more effective.

Skills Required:: |
Education / Experience
Minimum education/experience:
O Completed a 2 or 4 year degree program, preferably in computer science.
O Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Windows XP/Vista).
Desirable education/experience:
O Minimum 2 years of IT support experience.
O Background in science, engineering or mathematics.
O Work experience in the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry.
Should have supported some scientific software (like chemdraw, documentum, Avalon etc). |
