We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV for a Career Associate position in our Intellectual Property practice group.
Under the direct supervision of attorneys in multiple practice offices, this role supports the needs of the IP Practice Group, particularly with regard to both billable and non-billable patent related matters throughout the firm. The incumbent must possess excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information in both oral and written communications. This role works independently on discreet issues and projects while receiving direct supervision from the various IP Attorneys in the firm.

Qualifications:
• JD from accredited law school required.
• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required, with preference for Electrical Engineering degree.
• Licensure from at least one (1) jurisdiction.
• 2-4 years prior Intellectual Property experience required.
• A strong technical background is required (specialized knowledge or focus in specific areas of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Physics may be particularly valued).
• A strong knowledge of the developments and evolution of specific technical areas (for example, networking or semiconductor design) is desirable.
• Experience with patent prosecution and/or litigation a plus.
• Must possess excellent legal research, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent academic credentials required.
• Patent Bar Registration a plus.
• Highly motivated and proactive.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must possess effective execution skills with the ability to consistently meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated customer focus and service orientation.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Must exercise independent judgment and be comfortable being remotely supervised by attorneys in other practice offices.
• Fluency in written Mandarin or Cantonese is sought.
