| Job Description: |
1. Department Description/Function:
The Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds Group Research department’s primary functions include:
• Managing the creation and distribution of web site analytic reports and dashboards that highlight and track:
o Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly site traffic and performance indicators
o Global vs. US and International performance
o Neopets vs. competitive sites
• Provides analysis on industry and consumer trends, market conditions, and developments within the competitive online space.
• Manages ongoing Consumer Tracking Survey and other ad-hoc survey requests including survey development, data analysis, and presentation of findings.
• Oversees and manages all aspects of usability labs including, but not limited to:
o Facility operations and technical set-up
o Recruitment of respondents
o Moderating usability labs and one-on-one interviews
o Note taking
o Producing summary reports and video clips
• Develops ,using both internal and external Web analytic tools, as well as syndicated research reports, ongoing market trend and analysis reports and dashboards that effectively present site performance relative to competition.
• Provides research insights and fields ad-hoc requests from all internal clients including Marketing, Production, Consumer Products, and Ad/Sales.
2. Intern’s Principle Responsibilities:
• Assist the Research department in creation of website analytic reports and dashboards
• Usability labs including:
o Facility operations and technical set-up
o Recruitment of respondents
o Note taking
o Helping with producing summary reports and video clips
3. Anticipated Projects for the Intern During the Semester:
Some of the anticipated projects for the intern include helping the research department with daily, weekly, and monthly summary and analytic reports.
4. Special Skills/Requests:
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Experience utilizing 3rd party Web analytic tools such as Omniture, Comscore, Nielsen Net Ratings, etc (Optional)
• Strong understanding of digital media industry with Internet research and site analytics experience required
• Highly organized, able to multi-task
• Strong analytical/mathematical skills
5. Requirements:
This is a non-paid program. To be eligible students must be enrolled in a credited internship course for the semester of the internship, and must present proof of that course credit for semester of your internship. Students must be 18 years of age or older, in college (freshman or above), and be available to intern 16-30 hours per week. Internships listed above are based in Glendale California.
