| Job Description: |
Contract position in the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
• This is a single residential position as opposed to a fly-in-fly-out position. Ample leave is provided for with a travelling allowance (US$15000) paid per annum in addition to the annual package specified which may be used on a pro rata basis through the year.
• Accommodation, food and transport provided
• Salary around US$160K per annum, depending on skills and experience.
Requirements:
• MBChB and registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Medical Practitioner
• At least 7-10 years experience as a Medical Practitioner
• Sound knowledge of tropical diseases treatment
• Must have surgical and ICU/ER experience and also Ultrasound and X-ray interpretation
• Experience in a Mining environment in a remote area will be a distinct advantage
• Adequate knowledge and abilities to manage trauma and emergencies
• Ability to manage a hospital and staff
• Must be a good manager and leader
• Must be able to communicate in French (distinct advantage)
