Data Annotator
The Butler Hill Group has an immediate need for Data Annotators to review and evaluate internet search results based on specific search terms and provide either a favorable or unfavorable rating depending on the relevance of the result to the search term. The evaluation work is done according to specific guidelines using an automated tool.
Candidates must be native Spanish speakers, living in Spain. Ideal candidates possess a strong familiarity with a wide variety of online news sources and are avid Internet enthusiasts. This is a free-lance, contracted position requiring that annotators work remotely from their own personal computer (high-speed DSL or cable and a recent version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office proficiency are required).
Annotators will work 4 hours per day, Monday–Friday. This is an ongoing project, requiring a continuing commitment to part-time work (20 hours per week) that may extend to approximately the middle of 2010. We offer a competitive hourly rate paid as self-employment income.
Qualifications
•Proven track record in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
•Excellent communication skills
•High-level reading comprehension skills
•Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills
•Background or interest in Internet research, fact-checking, internet technology and/or communications
•Familiar with current cultural, political, business and media affairs in Spain
•Analytical skills, including research skills, ability to interpret data, ability to conceptualize and analyze information
•Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office application, especially MS Word and MS Excel
•Minimum two years of college or equivalent work experience preferred
