Position Summary
Work in collaboration with the Director of Physician Services and under the direct clinical supervision of the Cardiac and Thoracic surgeons; provide and coordinate the care of the Cardiothoracic patients.
Position Requirements

Education Requirements: Masters Degree Required
Background / Testing: Required
Skills and Qualifications
Prior experience in Cardiac and/or Thoracic surgery; or acute care post surgical patients.

Position Description
*Requirements: APRN license and/or Physician Assistant; a minimum of one year experience in cardiothoracic surgery (or equivalent).
*Responsibilities: Provides and coordinates the care and education of the Cardiothoracic patient and staff. Functions as a coordinator in the care and education of patients in the inpatient unit, preoperative, postoperative and through home care programs. Act as a patient advocate, assuring that all aspects of the patients` and families` needs are met and preventing fragmentation of care.
*Hrs: 5 day week with Patient Call (1 in 3) and rounding every 4th weekend.
