This position is with the Computer Systems Segment of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. This particular division of Computer Systems, Maintech, provides computer system and LAN/WAN services to mission critical, multi-vendor, multi-site applications in the Financial, Telecommunications and Research and Development markets. The division`s broad spectrum of IT design, procurement, project management and maintenance services, includes 24/7 managed network and systems support. We have an opening for a technical professional to function as a SUN Engineer in Hopewell, NJ.
We are looking for a self-motivated, dedicated individual to fill an on-site position with field service requirements. Utilizing your technical knowledge, you will have the responsibility of responding to customer calls in a timely and efficient manner to troubleshoot, analyze and diagnose SUN Microsystems server hardware. You will provide problem resolution or refer more complex issues to Sr. Customer Engineer. Maintenance of inventory and documentation of activity will demonstrate strong organizational skills.

Skills Required:: |
The ideal candidate that we are searching for will possess a High School Diploma or GED and have a minimum of five + years in servicing SUN Microsystems server hardware. Candidate`s responsibilities will primarily be servicing SUN Microsystems hardware, which will include diagnosing troubleshooting and repairing servers. Must be highly motivated with great communication skills. Candidate will possess strong organizational skills with the abiltiy to work independently with the right documentation and minimum guidance. Candidate is required to do some paperwork related to service delivery and maintain a spare parts warehouse. Rotating on call 24x7 schedule, after hour, weekend and shift work requirements. Hp Unix, Ibm Risc-6000, Hp Proliant hardware experience a plus.
