Postion Summary :inspects system and facilities, including alarms, extinguishers,
Hydrants, terminal facilities, supports building, and tenant
Facilities. Ensure that deficiencies are reported, and those followup
Inspections are conducted to guarantee that fire system are
Operational and adequate.
Reports To : Assistant Chief, Fire Prevention
Principal Duties:
1. Reports deficiencies to superior in writing makes recommendations for
Corrective action required.
2. Checks and tests all fire alarm boxes and annunciator systems periodically.
3. Checks all fire extinguishers and hose reels for proper operation and condition.
Updates inspection tags at each tags.
4. Performs an operational check of all hydrants.
5. Performs periodic inspections of all building, looking for fire hazards, inoperative
Or blocked fire doors, and other potential fire hazard.
6. Conducts fire prevention orientations for designated KKIA employees and
Contractor’s personnel. Encourages employee’s participation in fire prevention
Activities.
7. Conducts research into National Fire Codes for compliance of KKIA buildings with
The codes.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: twelve (12) year of education.
Special Qualifications: shall have completed courses in and be qualified to
N.F.P.A.—1003 airport firefighter. Shall also be qualified to N.F.P.A. – 1031, fire
Inspector level 1 and fire prevention education officer level II.
Nationals of countries other than the United States shall possess qualifications at least
Equal to the above.
EXPERIENCE: seven (7) years experience in fire/rescue services including at least three
(3) years at technician level. At least two (2 of the five (5) years must have been spent in
An equivalent position at a category six (6) or above airport or a large structural station.
LANGUAGE Arabic desirable, ability to read, write and speak English required.
OTHERS: valid heavy vehicle operators license in country of origin and ability to obtain
Same in Saudi Arabia. Must be familiar with N.F.P.A. Codes and IFSTA Manuals |
