Postion Summary : Test, repair services and recharges breathing apparatus used by
Fire Service Operations personnel at Kkia.
Reports To : Assistant Chief, Fire Prevention
Principal Duties:
1 Recharges empty breathing apparatus cylinders.
2 Services and maintains breathing apparatus sets and repairs defective items as
Required.
3 Periodically inspects breathing apparatus sets in use and provides hydrostatic
Tests as prescribed in manufacturer’s specifications.
4 Maintains records of breathing apparatus equipment, manufacturer
Specifications, service manuals, and spare parts lists.
5 Provides breathing apparatus numbers and tags on each set and records date
And time of test or recharge on the tag.
6 Records breathing apparatus transaction taken in the breathing apparatus log
Book.
7 Tests, inspects, services and repairs fire hose, and hose couplings and/or fittings.
8 Assists supervisor in entering breathing apparatus data into the Kkia (mms)
Computer system.
9 Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: twelve (12) year formal education.
Special Qualifictions: shall have completed courses in and be qualified to N.F.P.A.—
1003 airport firefighter. Shall also have completed recognized training program in the
Maintenance of all types of breathing apparatus.
Nationals of countries other than the United States shall possess qualifications at least
Equal to the above.
EXPERIENCE: seven (7) years experience in breathing apparatus maintenance including
At least two (2) years at technician level. At least two (2) of the five (5) years must have
Been spent in an equivalent position at a category six (6) or above airport or large
Structural fire station. Additional breathing apparatus maintenance experience may be
Substituted for up to two (2) years education in the ratio of two (2) years experience to
One (1) years education.
LANGUAGE: Arabic desirable, Ability to read, write and speak English required.
OTHERS: valid vehicle operator’s license in country of origin and ability to obtain same
In Saudi Arabia. Must be familiar with N.F.P.A. Codes and IFSTA Manuals |
