Each Engineer in his respective speciality will perform the following:
• Performs quality control and ensures that the Works are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements.
• Inspects the works and issues site instructions as necessary.
• Reviews contractor`s correspondence and submittals and issues replies within the contract stipulations.
• Provides input to the monthly progress report as directed by the Resident Engineer
• Participates in progress, technical and coordination meetings as required.
• Checks contractor`s correspondence on contractual issues (variation orders evaluation, extension of time, claims, etc.) and provides pertinent replies.
• Reviews monthly payment certificates.
• Compiles pertinent documentation to be issued with the Taking Over Certificate.
• Overviews the Construction Contractors’ installation and construction methods and ensures that these methods are performed according to the Contract Documents.
• Overviews the Construction Contractors’ execution of the works and ensures that these works are performed according to the Contract Documents.
• Issues instructions to the Contractor to ensure the proper execution and control of the works.
• Witness the testing during the construction period.
• Prepares the list of defects.
• Reviews and comments on the As built Drawings.
• Participates in analyzing claims concerning related items.
• Prior to issuance of the Taking-over Certificate, he assists in the following:
Establishing with the Contractor, during the completion stage, a schedule for testing and commissioning of the works.
Witnessing the tests performed by the Contractor.
Preparing a list of outstanding works and providing the same to the contractor.
• Prior to issuance of the Defects Liability Certificate and during the Defects Liability Period, he assists in the following:
Inspecting and verifying that the outstanding works have been satisfactorily completed by the Contractor.
Instructing the Contractor to remedy defects detected as a result of the inspection of the works.
