This position reports to:Manager Structures NSWPrimary Position Purpose:
The Structures Group has expanded its position in the Civil Infrastructure market in Australia and overseas and requires a Senior Structural Engineer experienced in the design of infrastructure works.
The engineer will be required to work within a small professional team and demonstrate good communications skills.
Responsible for structural design and or verification work
Assistance with Project Management
The associated documentation for project tasks as assigned
Key Responsibilities
Work in and manage a team of structural engineers, geotechnical engineers and other engineers to complete the designs for infrastructure projects to the specified standards
Ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget
Interface with the client and other groups within the company, in order to maintain a working relationship between all parties
Ensure that appropriate technical standards, QA, EMS and OH&S requirements are maintained on projects
Maintain contacts and keep abreast of developments in the industry
Prepare Expressions of Interest for work tendered by clients
Key ContactsThis position requires liaison with the following personnel:
Key clients
Subcontractors
Key Performance Indicators
Client satisfaction with project delivery
Quality and timeliness of reporting
Planning of workload to meet deadlines
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
The successful candidate will be a qualified civil/structural engineer with experience on multidisciplinary projects. Relevant experience is a minimum of 5 years and preferably 10 years in the design of structures in one or more of the following fields:
· Underground Structures
· Airports
· Rail
· Water Related Infrastructure
They will be able to demonstrate good written and verbal English language skills
Knowledge of Australian design standards is preferred, but is not essential. More important is a sound understanding of the detailed design process and a willingness to communicate with the various disciplines involved in a major infrastructure project.
Degree in an appropriate branch of engineering
Knowledge of design for civil engineering projects
Demonstrate knowledge and use of software applications and design tools.
