| Job Description: |
This position reports to:Team Leader Highways & TransportPrimary Position Purpose:The Senior Highways MX Designer will be responsible for setting-up and controlling an efficient MX highway design process for major road infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Team Leader and project manage the prompt delivery of road and traffic projects and associated tasks.
Liaise with clients and foster and maintain relationships regarding projects.
Contribute to the continued development of MX capability within the company.
Carry out and lead road designs to a standard suitable for drafting in accordance with the relevant standards and guidelines.
Undertake business development activities.
Assist the Team Leader in the development of strategies to enhance the success rate for winning projects.
Preparation of consultant proposals for tendering, including resource and cost estimating.
Coordinate road design projects with other disciplines in the office where relevant. (eg structural and drainage design).
Preparation of CAD drawings to a standard suitable for presentation to clients.
Timely and professional delivery of road design proposals and projects.
Ensure that the Team Leader is kept informed of potential issues (no surprises).
Liaise and communicate with other team members the key learnings from projects and promote a culture of developing team knowledge of road and bridge projects.
Coordinate road design projects with other disciplines in the office where relevant. (eg structural and drainage design).
Maintain resource records by way of time sheets.
Other duties as requested by the Team Leader.

Qualifications admitting to the IE Aust (desirable) or appropriate technical qualification.
Experience in traffic engineering and/road and highways design.
Skills and knowledge to interpret and apply relevant road design and traffic management standards.
Experience in road and highways design using MX computer aided design software.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work in a high pressure environment.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated negotiation skills and an ability to influence outcomes.
Sound knowledge of QA and OH and S requirements.
Would consider 12D Designers.
Key Challenges
