House Monitor/s |
| Job category: |
Creative Arts/Media |
| Job Location: |
New York - NY New York - USA |
| Job Description: |
Tasks:
1) Informing visitors about the nature of the work and asking about preexisting conditions that may cause a health conflict for an individual when entering ZEE, without causing them unwarranted anxiety. In some cases the warnings themselves will cause people to develop anxiety. In these cases, these people should not be encouraged to enter. Instead, extra effort must be made to ensure that they are comfortable and relaxed before being allowed entry.
2) Guiding people through ZEE is an essential challenge. Visitors will have to be escorted into ZEE and the monitor has the initial task of communicating with them until it seems that everyone will be comfortable inside the space. Guests are encouraged to hold on to the ropes until this time, move along them into the space and to not let go unless they are completely confident. At this point in time it is the task of the monitor to find a realistic balance between allowing the individuals to experience ZEE for themselves, but also continue to monitor them and the environment for their safety. Monitors are required to stay inside of ZEE for the duration of each showing, in order to assist guests if necessary. Finally, once the show ends, it is the task of the monitor to make sure that each individual is accounted for and has safely exited ZEE.
