Location: San Diego

We present an opportunity to grow your career in lab management with one of the top providers of clinical laboratory services worldwide. Reporting to the Laboratory Director, the Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Supervising the Chemistry department staff. This includes: hiring and training staff to meet and maintain performance and customer service levels per departmental guidelines, scheduling shifts and rotations, managing and tracking overtime, managing time off and leaves of absences, completing and communicating quarterly and annual Performance Appraisals to staff members, responding to and resolving performance staff deficiencies and policy violations; completing payroll in a timely manner, and holding departmental meetings.
- Reporting results in a timely fashion;
- Monitoring and responding to all client concerns;
- Managing and assisting with laboratory QC including equipment calibration;
- Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures manuals for all QA functions as necessary;
- Monitoring and evaluating established protocols and recommend changes as needed;
- Completing monthly Safety talks for 100% compliance and competency monitoring;
- Monitoring and documenting annual safety training and current licenses for all Chemistry personnel;
- Complying with all other company policies and procedures;
- Maintaining laboratory stock levels;
- Keeping laboratory clean and organized.
Position available: Tuesday through Saturday, third shift (12:00am-9:00am). Overtime may be required.
Requirements:
• BS degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or other life science
• A current, unrestricted California CLS License
• 5+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist
• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures for biohazards and chemicals, as well as quality control procedures and regulations
• Strong quantitative skills
• Proven attention to detail with effective organizational skills
• Proven problem solving and trouble shooting skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing
• Effective interpersonal and team skills, and exceptional customer service skills
